Employer: ByteDance Inc.Position: Data Scientist (Multiple Positions)Location: New York, NYResponsibilities- Build rules, algorithms, and machine learning models to identify and extract valuable business insights and information from raw data and data sources.- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns in data through probability and statistical analysis and automate the collection processes.- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.- Design and monitor core metrics and perform analysis to explain key drivers to inform decision-making.- Present information using data visualization techniques.- Develop classification and regression algorithms using machine learning techniques.- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize overall project goals.QualificationsMust have a Masters degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 1 year of related work experience, or a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, and 3 years of related work experience.Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:- Performing data analysis, data ingestion or data integration;- Using SQL queries and data visualization tools to gather, process, visualize, and analyze large quantities of data to detect trends and anomalies in support of business opportunity identification;- Cleaning and processing data using relational databases or Hadoop Systems;- Identifying business problems and proposing growth opportunities with data-driven insights;- Designing and maintaining dashboards using visualization tools to visualize key data and insights, track key performance indicators, and provide self-service tools to stakeholders; and- Developing and maintaining tables, views, indexes, datasets, or data pipelines to extract, clean, transform, load and maintain data across multiple databases.
