Summary
About the Position: The Supervisory Health System Specialist provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
- Provide accountability for key healthcare performance targets and advises leadership on planning, agreements, and program actions.
- Facilitate organizational decision-making and planning while coordinating with leadership and peers to resolve issues and implement changes that improve regional healthcare delivery.
- Coordinates budget planning and execution while recommending resource allocation, setting financial priorities, and implementing short- and long-term budget policies to support mission needs.
- Serve as the unit’s lead data expert, analyzing key performance metrics, ensuring data integrity, managing databases, applying statistical methods, and guiding other specialists.
- Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinates while managing priorities, schedules, performance standards, and personnel actions
- Addresse employee concerns, administers minor disciplinary measures, supports training and development, and identifies ways to improve productivity and work quality.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating healthcare processes, systems, clinics, programs, or policies to improve the access, quality, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare delivery; utilizing financial systems, such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), to assist in the plan and/or execution of a budget; collaborating with medical treatment facility leaders on work-related changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivery processes; providing supervision, leadership, oversight, or direction to employees and their work.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
