Summary

About the Position: The Supervisory Health System Specialist provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

• Provide accountability for key healthcare performance targets and advises leadership on planning, agreements, and program actions.
• Facilitate organizational decision-making and planning while coordinating with leadership and peers to resolve issues and implement changes that improve regional healthcare delivery.
• Coordinates budget planning and execution while recommending resource allocation, setting financial priorities, and implementing short- and long-term budget policies to support mission needs.
• Serve as the unit’s lead data expert, analyzing key performance metrics, ensuring data integrity, managing databases, applying statistical methods, and guiding other specialists.
• Plan, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinates while managing priorities, schedules, performance standards, and personnel actions
• Addresse employee concerns, administers minor disciplinary measures, supports training and development, and identifies ways to improve productivity and work quality.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating healthcare processes, systems, clinics, programs, or policies to improve the access, quality, and cost-effectiveness of healthcare delivery; utilizing financial systems, such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), to assist in the plan and/or execution of a budget; collaborating with medical treatment facility leaders on work-related changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivery processes; providing supervision, leadership, oversight, or direction to employees and their work.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
