Software Engineering Manager

On-site: Downtown Salt Lake City, UT

$140-160K/year +Bonus

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead distributed engineering teams building high-availability, customer-facing applications. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, people management, modern cloud architecture, and the practical adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams of C#/.NET and React engineers across North America and India.

  • Oversee delivery of complex software products and customer-facing applications.Drive modernization from monolithic applications toward scalable, service-oriented architectures.

  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards.

  • Mentor engineers and managers while building a high-performing engineering culture.

  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tools and AI-enabled product capabilities.

  • Partner with Product and business stakeholders to define priorities, manage dependencies, and execute roadmaps.

  • Establish and improve Agile, DevOps, quality, and software delivery processes.

  • Use engineering and delivery metrics to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve team performance.

  • Manage technical risk, resource planning, and delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years leading distributed engineering teams.

  • Strong experience with C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL Server, and modern APIs.

  • Experience designing scalable, secure enterprise applications and cloud-native architectures.

  • Strong Azure experience, including services such as AKS, Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD.

  • Experience with microservices, clean architecture, DDD, SOLID principles, performance optimization, and secure development.

  • Practical experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar platforms.

  • Experience integrating AI capabilities using platforms such as Azure AI services or OpenAI APIs.

  • Proven ability to mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish strong engineering practices.

  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms and improving software delivery through DevOps and Agile practices.

  • Strong communication, product thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with third-party integrations and enterprise software environments.

  • Preferred: Experience in financial services, insurance, fintech, SaaS, or other highly regulated/mission-critical environments.
