As our Front Office Receptionist – Pediatrics, you'll play an important role in creating a positive, supportive experience for children and their families while helping our care team deliver exceptional healthcare.

This is more than a front desk position. You'll be a valued member of our team, helping patients navigate their care, keeping daily operations running smoothly, and ensuring families feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.

A typical day of a Front Office Receptionist - Pediatrics might include;

  • Provide friendly, professional customer service and help children and families feel comfortable when they arrive.

  • Schedule patient visits according to established protocols, ensuring appropriate appointment times and accurate scheduling.

  • Verify and update patient demographics, review insurance information, and collect applicable payments.

  • Make appointment reminder calls and review patient records for alerts or information requiring attention.

  • Confirm information and payments are accurate, review relevant alerts, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.

  • Ensure patient information is entered and maintained accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable waiting room and front office environment.

  • Follow established policies, procedures, quality standards, safety guidelines, and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and providers to support an efficient, patient-centered healthcare experience.

Experience Needed to Land this Gig:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Medical office administration or healthcare reception experience preferred.

  • Experience with AthenaOne or another electronic health record (EHR) system preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to protecting confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA.

  • Proficiency with word processing and general computer applications.

  • Keyboarding speed of 35 words per minute or greater preferred.

  • Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and remain productive with minimal direct supervision.

  • A friendly, tactful, and compassionate approach when working with patients, families, and coworkers.
