Laboratory Assistant - PRN/As Needed - Sat & Sun 7 AM-4 PM - ICON Salt Lake City UT

Title : Laboratory Assistant- Early Phase Clinical Research

Job Type : PRN/As Needed

Desired Shift/Schedule: Saturday- Sunday with availability to be scheduled between 9 PM-7 AM. This is a PRN/as-needed position, and candidates should be available to work during these hours when scheduled. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on business needs.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

What You Will Do: The Laboratory Assistant plays a key role within our team by assisting and aiding the technical staff with the handling and storing of and accounting for biological lab specimens, quality control and any other relevant tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring samples/Troubleshooting discrepancies

  • Consolidating created samples/containers (i.e. slides, blocks, reports, etc)

  • Searching and retrieving documents and samples

  • Performing data entry/Monitoring e-mails and various correspondences

  • Checking that slides/blocks are properly barcoded and labeled

  • Assisting the pathologists with the technical/clerical work.

Your Profile:

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred, But will also consider associate’s degree and HS Diploma

  • 1 + year of related experience in a clinical laboratory

  • Experience using Microsoft Office along with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle large workload demands and troubleshoot issues when needed

  • Time management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to keep accurate, legible records and adhere to GCP/GLP/GDP
