About Minnesota Closets

Minnesota Closets is the customer-facing brand of MN Closets LLC, a Minnesota-based custom closet design and installation company.

Over the past three years, I’ve built Minnesota Closets from the ground up, personally handling nearly every part of the business—from meeting with customers and designing their spaces to delivering and installing the finished closets.

As the company grows, I’m ready to bring on our first dedicated installer.

I’m looking for an experienced custom closet installer who genuinely enjoys the work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can independently deliver the level of quality our customers expect.

The Position

As our Founding Lead Closet Installer, you’ll serve as our primary installer, independently completing custom closet installations from preparation through final walkthrough.

This is a hands-on position for someone who already has professional custom closet installation experience and can confidently manage installations without constant supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently install custom closets, pantries, mudrooms, and other built-in storage systems.

• Read and interpret installation drawings and accurately install wall-mounted and floor-standing systems.

• Install and adjust shelving, drawers, doors, hanging rods, hardware, fillers, and finishing components.

• Identify site conditions, troubleshoot installation challenges, and coordinate necessary design or scope changes before proceeding.

• Load, transport, and organize installation materials.

• Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and installation vehicle.

• Protect customers’ homes and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

• Communicate professionally with customers and represent Minnesota Closets with pride.

• Complete final quality checks, adjustments, and cleanup.

• As the company expands, help train, supervise, and eventually manage additional installers.

Schedule & Growth Opportunity

This is a permanent position with hours varying based on installation schedules and project volume, with the opportunity to transition to full-time as the company grows.

You’ll be joining a growing local business as its first dedicated installer, with the opportunity to take ownership of installation quality, help establish our standards, and play an important role in building the installation team.

I’m looking for someone who wants to do excellent work, enjoys the satisfaction of a beautifully finished installation, and is interested in growing with the company over the long term.

Minimum Education Required

No specific degree or diploma required. Relevant professional custom closet installation experience is the primary qualification.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of professional custom closet installation experience required.

Must have demonstrated experience independently completing high-quality custom closet installations from start to finish, reading installation drawings, making accurate field adjustments, and troubleshooting installation challenges.

Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, reliability, accountability, and professional communication skills required.

Ability to work independently, manage installation schedules, and maintain consistent quality standards.

Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to our commercial auto insurance provider required.

This is not an entry-level or apprentice position. We’re specifically looking for someone with professional custom closet installation experience who genuinely enjoys the work and takes pride in delivering exceptional results.

Additional Compensation

Performance-based project bonuses paid in addition to the hourly base wage for completed installations.
