Content Design Systems Engineer

We're looking for a Content Design Systems Engineer to help scale how content is designed, produced, and delivered across our customer experience ecosystem. You'll contribute to building reusable content systems, patterns, governance models, and AI-enabled workflows that help teams create clear, consistent, and accessible customer communications.

Working alongside content designers, UX designers, engineers, product managers, and researchers, you'll help transform content from a collection of individual assets into scalable, reusable systems.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain reusable content components, templates, patterns, and standards for scalable customer communications.

• Partner with designers, engineers, and content teams to implement content within products, design systems, and multi-channel experiences.

• Structure and optimize content for accessibility, personalization, localization, and consistent delivery across channels.

• Support content governance through documentation, content audits, and continuous improvement of reusable assets.

• Contribute to automation and AI-powered workflows while building expertise in structured content and content systems.

What we're looking for

Content design

• Strong foundation in UX writing, content design, content strategy, or related disciplines.

• Understanding of user-centered design principles and content best practices.

• Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive content standards.

• Familiarity with AI workflows.

Systems thinking

• Experience in design systems, content systems, or reusable frameworks.

• Ability to recognize patterns and apply existing standards consistently.

• Comfortable working with structured information and content models.

Technical fluency

• Familiarity with CMS platforms, structured content, design tools, or similar AI systems.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technical teams.

• Curiosity about automation, AI, and workflow optimization.

Collaboration & growth

• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on solutions.

• Desire to learn systems thinking, governance, and scalable content practices.

• Demonstrates ownership within defined projects.

Essential requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in UX writing content design, content strategy, conversation design, or related product experience disciplines.

• Strong understanding of content design systems, reusable patterns, information architecture, messaging frameworks, and systems thinking.

• Experience designing content across customer journeys, channels, and interaction states.

• Foundational or working knowledge of generative AI and LLM-powered experiences, including prompting, context, conversational interactions, and AI-generated content.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in Figma, design systems, or cross-functional product environments.

Desirable requirements

• Exposure to AI-powered, agentic, conversational, or generative experiences.

• Familiarity with prompt design, context engineering, AI evaluation, RAG concepts, or responsible AI practices.

• Experience or knowledge of structured content, including metadata, taxonomy, schemas, content models, or JSON.

• Knowledge of localization/internationalization, terminology management, and accessibility practices such as WCAG 2.2.

• Experience with B2B, commerce, subscription, support, service design, or complex customer journeys.

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $128,350 - $166,100.
