A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Testing & High-Speed Balancing, you will lead the development and operation of a world-class testing capability supporting the North American Distributed Gas Turbine fleet.

You will be responsible for designing, building, commissioning, staffing, and operating the Service Competence Center's SGT-400 test facility and high-speed balancing operation. Working closely with engineering, operations, EHS, quality, procurement, and project teams, you will establish the infrastructure, processes, workforce, and culture necessary to safely and efficiently validate overhauled gas turbines before they are returned to service.

This is a unique opportunity to build a greenfield capability from the ground up while establishing a long-term center of excellence supporting one of the fastest-growing gas turbine service fleets in North America.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and startup of the SGT-400 test facility and high-speed balancing capability.

  • Establish and oversee gas turbine testing operations, including acceptance testing, controls verification, mechanical integrity validation, and performance assessments.

  • Develop and lead high-speed balancing operations, including rotor balancing methodologies, vibration diagnostics, rotor dynamics, and measurement system accuracy.

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing technical organization while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish robust safety and quality systems, lead risk assessments and root cause investigations, and ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive operational excellence by optimizing facility utilization, throughput, turnaround time, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

  • Manage operating and capital budgets, develop investment business cases, and support long-term capacity, capability, and fleet growth strategies.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant industry experience.

  • 10 or more years of experience in gas turbine testing, rotating equipment, turbomachinery, aerospace engine testing, or a similar industrial environment.

  • Proven experience leading technical teams and complex initiatives within testing, operations, manufacturing, overhaul, repair, or service environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing organizations, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive safety, customer focus, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Experience commissioning, operating, or expanding industrial facilities and test systems, with strong project execution and operational leadership capabilities.

  • Technical expertise in areas such as industrial gas turbines, high-speed balancing, rotor dynamics, vibration analysis, controls and instrumentation, mechanical integrity, reliability, or data acquisition systems.

  • Willing and able to travel at least 25% as needed.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
