The Role
As Senior Manager, Pre-Sales you support complex software sales cycles by delivering compelling product demonstrations, responding to technical and functional requirements, and building reusable pre-sales assets. You combine solid product knowledge with strong client-facing skills to accelerate pipeline conversion — working across direct client engagements, partner-supported opportunities and industry events.
What You Will Do:
Pre-sales support and solution delivery
-
Support the end-to-end pre-sales process for assigned opportunities: discovery, demos, RFP responses, solution scoping and proposal preparation.
-
Deliver tailored product demonstrations to mid-level and senior client stakeholders, translating features into business value.
-
Facilitate client workshops to identify requirements, validate fit and shape the solution approach.
-
Prepare written responses to RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires in coordination with product, legal and delivery teams.
-
Support proof-of-concept engagements; document outcomes and feed learnings back into the pre-sales playbook.
Partner and event support
-
Support channel and technology partners in pre-sales engagements: provide product demonstrations and technical guidance, build their confidence in positioning the solution, and assist on partner-led opportunities when additional pre-sales depth is required.
-
Support the business at industry events and trade shows: deliver product demonstrations for event audiences, engage prospects and clients on-site with relevant use cases, and document leads and follow-up actions promptly after each event.
Asset development and enablement
-
Develop and maintain reusable pre-sales materials: demo scripts, solution blueprints, proposal modules, competitive battle cards and ROI templates.
-
Stay current on product updates, competitive landscape and industry trends; share insights with the broader sales team.
-
Contribute to the onboarding of new team members on product and solution knowledge.
Collaboration and reporting
-
Work closely with the sales lead and AD Pre-Sales to align on opportunity strategy and solution approach.
-
Maintain accurate records of pre-sales activities and solution configurations; support pipeline reporting as required.
-
Participate in win/loss reviews and apply learnings to improve proposal quality and demo effectiveness.
INDUSTRY AND PRODUCT FIT:
-
Deep understanding of manufacturing operations technology: MES, quality management, condition monitoring, OEE monitoring, and how these systems generate data that is rarely unified or actionable without a semantic layer above them.
-
Understanding of OT/IT integration architecture: ISA-95, OPC-UA connectivity, MQTT, historian integration (OSIsoft PI, AVEVA), PLC/SCADA data extraction, and the data pipeline from shop floor to cloud via Microsoft Azure IoT Operations and the role of Microsoft Fabric as a unified data layer.
-
Ability to design and present a solution architecture for an agentic AI platform deployment in a manufacturing environment, including integration touchpoints with ERP (SAP, Oracle), CMMS, PLM, and WMS — and familiarity with the Microsoft manufacturing stack (Azure IoT Operations, Microsoft Fabric, AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio).
-
Experience engaging technical buyers in manufacturing: Head of IT/OT, Plant Manager, Head of Engineering, Industrial Architect, and Chief Data Officer — with an understanding of how their priorities and concerns differ from operational and economic buyers.
-
Familiarity with AI and ML applications in manufacturing: anomaly detection, failure prediction from sensor data, root cause analysis across multi-source operational data, and agentic workflows that route recommendations to the right persona without removing human oversight.
-
Understanding of Industrial AI orchestration: how agentic systems reason across structured OT/IT data to generate prescriptive recommendations, how human-in-the-loop approval is designed into agentic workflows, and where autonomous action is appropriate versus where it is not.
-
Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for OT/IT connected environments: IEC 62443, network segmentation between OT and cloud, anomaly detection for OT networks, and sector-specific compliance considerations — sufficient to address a CISO or IT security lead's concerns without escalating every question.
-
Experience scoping and running proof-of-concept engagements for manufacturing AI: defining the production line or asset scope, working with the client to establish data access and pipeline configuration, structuring a retrospective or live validation exercise, and presenting results credibly to a mixed operations and IT audience.
-
Ability to deliver a compelling, scenario-based demonstration of an agentic manufacturing AI platform across a representative operational situation — downtime response, quality deviation, or shift handover — tailored to the persona in the room rather than defaulting to a feature walkthrough.
-
Experience operating within a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) or in an equivalent embedded MVP model, bridging the gap between a standardized platform and the realities of a specific factory's data estate.
-
Experience developing agentic AI capabilities in a pre-sales or product context: building proof-of-concept agents grounded in structured domain data, designing agentic workflows with appropriate human-in-the-loop controls, and translating PoC outputs into reusable product enhancements.
Travel may be required for role - 0-80% depending on client and business needs
Here’s What You Need:
-
Minimum 8+ years of pre-sales, solution consulting or technical sales support experience in enterprise software including a track record of contributing to complex sales opportunities, including RFP responses and solution demonstrations.
-
Minimum 8+ years of enterprise software delivery models (SaaS, license, managed services) and integration approaches.
-
Minimum 12 months of demonstrated experience supporting pre-sales for AI-native software products — solutions built on LLMs, agentic workflows or machine learning platforms — with evidence of demos delivered or RFP contributions.
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Professional Skills:
-
Experience presenting technical solutions to mid-level and C-suite stakeholders.

Organized and detail-oriented; comfortable managing multiple concurrent opportunities.

Self-motivated and resilient; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points if You have:
- AI certifications (e.g. Microsoft AI-900/AI-102, Google Cloud Professional ML Engineer, AWS Certified ML Specialty, DeepLearning.AI specialisations) are valued.
