Full job description

Atlantic Medical Group Endocrinology at Morristown is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ambulatory practice. The RN works as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, with a focus on clinical assessment, patient communication, and collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers. This position is scheduled for weekday daytime hours with some discussion on weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telephone and in-office triage, assessing patient symptoms, prioritizing care needs, and providing appropriate guidance.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians and providers to support clinical decision-making and coordinate patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, including answering clinical messages, providing education, and relaying provider instructions.

  • Collect, assess, and evaluate patient health data to develop and implement care plans.

  • Ensure care is delivered in accordance with the NJ Nurse Practice Act and established protocols.

  • Utilize EMR and other systems to document care accurately and efficiently.

  • Participate in shared governance and contribute to process improvements focused on patient safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Provide inpatient education to families/patients with Endocrine conditions and provide education to patients/family on Diabetes management.

  • Educate inpatient nurses and the community and school nurses on Endocrine conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program and active NJ RN license

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience

  • BLS certification

  • Experience assessing patient concerns in a clinical setting (in-person, phone, or electronic communication)

  • Ability to evaluate patient symptoms and escalate clinical issues appropriately

  • Ability to review and identify abnormal or critical laboratory values

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN

  • CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialist)

  • Prior experience in Endocrinology and pediatrics

  • Experience with patient follow-up, in-basket management, or outbound patient communication

  • Familiarity with Endocrine conditions

Knowledge of medications commonly used to treat Endocrine conditions
