Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Project Management Office (PMO) specialist to guide a high-visibility business strategy initiative for executive leadership in Detroit, Michigan. This Contract position will support the coordination of a structured, company-level strategic planning effort, ensuring milestones, decisions, and deliverables stay aligned through completion. The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading C-suite-facing programs, building executive-ready materials, and driving cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of a strategic planning initiative sponsored by executive leadership, maintaining momentum across all workstreams.

  • Build and manage the overall project schedule, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and critical decisions from kickoff through final delivery.

  • Establish and facilitate governance routines, including leadership meetings, status reviews, and approval checkpoints.

  • Coordinate input from cross-functional teams and committees, consolidating their contributions into a unified strategic roadmap and presentation package.

  • Partner closely with senior executives to prepare updates, synthesize progress, and support informed decision-making.

  • Monitor project risks and issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and escalate concerns appropriately to maintain timeline and quality expectations.

  • Develop high-quality executive presentations and supporting materials suitable for leadership review and broader organizational communication.

  • Ensure project documentation, action items, and deliverables are organized, current, and accessible to key stakeholders. Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

  • 5+ years of project management experience, including ownership of complex initiatives involving executive stakeholders.

  • Proven success managing C-suite or executive leadership projects within a PMO or enterprise program environment.

  • Strong background in cross-functional project management with the ability to align multiple teams around shared objectives.

  • Experience creating executive presentations and communicating project status clearly to senior leadership.

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning environments; exposure to Epicor ERP is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive governance processes, milestone tracking, and stakeholder accountability.

  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a part-time engagement of approximately 20 hours per week through April.
