What You Will Lead:
As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Manager, you will lead the operational journey that transforms innovative product designs into scalable, high-quality production. Serving as the primary liaison between Teradyne and our Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) partners, you will align global teams, remove barriers, and guide new products from early NPI builds through high-volume manufacturing. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to influence launch strategy, solve complex technical and operational challenges, and help deliver products that meet our customers’ needs.
If you thrive on bringing structure to ambiguity, building alignment across global teams, and turning complex manufacturing challenges into successful product launches, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact from day one.
-
Lead cross-functional internal and external teams to achieve operational readiness from NPI through high-volume manufacturing (HVM) at contract manufacturing sites.
-
Build alignment with senior leaders and contract manufacturing partners through clear updates, recommendations, and presentations tailored to every level of management.
-
Synthesize input from multiple teams, identify emerging issues, escalate when needed, and lead productive resolution across organizational boundaries.
-
Shape and oversee first-build, follow-on-build, and production strategies, including the capacity and resource plans required for successful execution.
-
Lead the NPI Operations team and contract manufacturing partners in developing and executing product-transfer plans for production sites.
-
Apply technical and operational expertise to resolve complex challenges involving operations, engineering, suppliers, and contract manufacturing partners.
-
Drive corrective actions to closure and strengthen operational processes and procedures through continuous improvement.
-
Partner with cross-functional teams to anticipate risks, protect project timelines, and keep critical deliverables on track.
-
Ensure all operational deliverables are complete and enable a smooth, sustainable transition of new products to the high-volume manufacturing team.
-
Use industry-standard project management tools and techniques to measure progress, track execution, communicate risks, and provide clear performance reporting.
What You Bring:
-
Five or more years of operations experience in an engineering and/or project management role.
-
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent operations experience is preferred.
-
Working knowledge of inventory, capacity planning, material readiness, engineering, manufacturing, and financial considerations related to outsourcing electromechanical systems and PCBAs.
-
Operations and/or project management background with experience in product development in the high technology industry.
-
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to build alignment and foster effective communication across functions and separate organizations.
-
Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project and operational risks.
-
Experience leading or coordinating teams across multiple geographic locations and time zones.
-
Operations experience partnering with Asia-based contract manufacturers on production setup, product transfers, and operational issue resolution.
