Operations Director

Contributes to UCHS's mission and vision by being responsible for multiple facets of human and animal care at all times. Ensures effective daily shelter operations, primarily the care and handling of shelter animals. Works with the Facilities Director to ensure safe, effective, and efficient daily shelter operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Thinks, communicates, and acts in the best interest of UCHS and our human and animal clients at all times; models our mission and values in all job-related functions ? Monitors processes and procedures within shelter care, and identifies areas of improvement ? Works in conjunction with the Facilities Director ? Manages adoption counselors, and animal care associates, including scheduling of staff and managing time off ? Responsible for quickly identifying problems that could negatively impact our staff, visitors, volunteers, or the animals in our care, and for collaboratively developing and implementing a solution ? Responsible for overseeing staff onboarding, training, and professional development/ Oversee career development and continuing education. ? Assist the UCHS Executive Committee with the performance review process and provide written and verbal performance evaluations for direct reports. ? Monitors safety compliance of staff and takes immediate action to correct hazards. ? Responsible, in conjunction with the Board Treasurer for submitting payroll reports in a timely manner ? Facilitates weekly staff meetings ? Works in conjunction with the Board Treasurer on all financial items ? Serve as liaison between the UCHS Board and Staff ? Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator on items related to volunteers in the shelter ? Coordinates ongoing, regular partnerships within the shelter such as the West Central Community Correctional Facility volunteer program ? Performs other duties and special projects as assigned ? Other duties as assigned Parking Lot ? Oversees operations and shelter care for resident animals, including cleanliness, feeding, animal care, treatment, and participates in outcomes decisions ? Monitors and coordinates all aspects of the constant humane treatment and handling of shelter animals. ? Ensures the adoption experience is informative, enjoyable, and best suited for the animal and people involved, ensuring exceptional client care and service. ? Responsible for monitoring the [email protected] email and directing messages as appropriate to other staff and the board ? Responsible for overseeing current policies and procedures being followed and identifying areas for changes and/or new items to be codified in writing SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES ? Supervises, directs, and coordinates staffing ? Supervises Animal care associates and adoption counselors
