Full job description

Job Title: Compliance System Manager ( US Military )

Location: Mason, OH

Type: Direct Hire

Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive US Military Compliance System Program

  • Establish clear policies, procedures, and internal controls for export-controlled products, technical data, software, and services

  • Conduct periodic risk assessments, compliance reviews, and program evaluations to identify gaps and strengthen controls

  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new or updated compliance requirements

  • Serve as the company’s Empowered Official or designated US Military Compliance System representative, where applicable

  • Ensure compliance with applicable export control, sanctions, customs, aerospace, and quality management regulations

  • Maintain working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, U.S. Customs, FAA, AS9100, NAS 992, and international trade requirements

  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes to support compliant operations across the organization

  • Determine and document ECCN and USML classifications for products, technical data, software, and services

  • Support Commodity Jurisdiction determinations and classification reviews with technical and business teams

  • Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications, agreements, exceptions, and exemptions

  • Oversee controls for export-controlled technical data, technology transfers, and related access requirements

  • Develop and maintain Technology Control Plans supporting compliant engineering, product development, and operational activities

  • Manage denied party, restricted party, and sanctions screening processes across customers, suppliers, distributors, and business partners

  • Review international transactions, shipments, and technology transfers for potential compliance risks

  • Lead internal and external audits, assessments, and corrective actions related to US Military Compliance System

  • Support training efforts to build awareness and accountability across the organization

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into daily decisions and support organizational growth

  • Advise senior leadership on system risks, regulatory strategies, and program effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Aviation, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in US Military Compliance System, trade compliance, aerospace compliance, or highly regulated environments

  • Hands-on experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, manufacturing, or global operations involving technical data and controlled products

  • Proven expertise in export licensing, classification, technology controls, audits, and compliance program management

  • Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, U.S. Customs, and export licensing requirements

  • Knowledge of FAA, AS9100, NAS 992 standards, and aerospace industry regulations

  • Excellent regulatory interpretation, risk assessment, and issue resolution skills

  • Confidence in communication, training, and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences

  • High integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and accountability

  • Preferred certifications include export/trade compliance certifications such as CES, CGBP, US Military Compliance System Professional Certification, or Licensed Customs Broker

  • Additional certifications like AS9100 Lead Auditor, FAA compliance training, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus
