Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities while helping maintain accurate records and timely reporting. The role will focus on general accounting, close activities, and balance sheet integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger by recording and reviewing financial activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for routine and month-end accounting transactions.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.

• Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis to keep balances accurate and up to date.

• Support month-end close by analyzing account activity, correcting variances, and meeting reporting deadlines.

• Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks and provide backup support in this area when needed.

• Use Excel and ERP tools such as SAP to analyze data, organize financial records, and improve reporting efficiency.

Requirements • 5+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar general accounting role.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.

• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation activities.

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations, daily balancing work, and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices within a business environment.

• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP or a similar accounting system.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas for analysis and reporting.
