Experienced Decorative Sheet Metal Worker Position: Experienced Decorative Sheet Metal Worker Employment Type: Full-Time ## About the Position We are looking for an experienced Decorative Sheet Metal Worker who takes pride in craftsmanship, precision, and exceptional finished work. This position is ideal for a skilled metalworker with a strong eye for detail and experience producing high-end architectural and decorative sheet metal components. The successful candidate will have a particular emphasis on metal finishes, surface quality, fit, and overall appearance. We are looking for someone who understands that the quality of a finished piece is just as important as how it is fabricated. ## Responsibilities - Fabricate and finish custom decorative and architectural sheet metal components. - Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications. - Perform precision layout, cutting, forming, bending, welding, grinding, and finishing. - Produce consistent, high-quality finishes on stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other metals. - Perform finish work including grinding, brushing, polishing, blending, and other specialty finishing processes. - Maintain clean, uniform transitions and consistent grain patterns. - Inspect work throughout the fabrication process to ensure dimensional accuracy and finish quality. - Identify and correct imperfections before work reaches final inspection. - Protect finished surfaces from scratches, dents, contamination, and other damage. - Work with a variety of hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and finishing equipment. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. - Collaborate with other fabricators, welders, installers, and shop personnel to achieve the desired finished product. ## What We're Looking For - Several years of professional experience in decorative or architectural sheet metal fabrication. - Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes. - Demonstrated experience with metal finishing and surface preparation. - Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. - Ability to recognize imperfections that others may overlook. - Ability to work from drawings and specifications with minimal supervision. - Strong understanding of tolerances, fit, alignment, and visual consistency. - Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other architectural metals is preferred. - Experience with TIG welding and/or other precision welding processes is a plus. - Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team. - Dependable, organized, and committed to quality workmanship. ## Quality Expectations Quality is a priority in this position.
