The opportunity Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we’re excited to hire a Director, Recruiter & Referral Partnerships to join our Client Development team. Altruist grows through a network of partners who introduce advisors to our platform. At the center are advisor recruiting and transition consulting firms that work with breakaway teams leaving wirehouses or broker-dealers, as well as with firms evaluating a custody change. This channel has already produced closed business. Around it is a wider ecosystem of industry organizations, consultants, and platforms that shape where advisors go next. We're hiring a Director to own this partner network and turn it into a repeatable source of growth. You'll manage our recruiter partners day-to-day, build relationships across the broader RIA ecosystem, ensure every introduction is followed up and tracked, and clearly show what the channel delivers. Your impact
- Own Altruist's recruiter and referral partner channel end-to-end, from choosing partners through funded assets.
- Build and manage a roster of advisor-recruiting and transition-consulting firms. Add new partners based on lead quality, fit with Altruist's ideal advisor profile, and acquisition cost.
- Build and grow relationships across the wider RIA ecosystem, including industry organizations such as FPA, XYPN, and NAPFA; custodian-conversion consultants; RIA
- M&A and practice-management advisors; broker-dealer transition consultants; and TAMP and outsourced-CIO platforms. Turn those relationships into a steady flow of advisor introductions.
- Manage referral agreements with Finance and Legal, including AUM-based payout terms, measurement windows, and true-ups.
- Make Altruist the platform partners recommend. Train them on our offering, the firms we serve best, and how we compare with other custodians.
- Run referral intake and routing to Sales, set follow-up standards, and close the loop with partners on every introduction.
- Coordinate with Onboarding and Transitions so referred advisors have a smooth move to Altruist.
- Track every referral in our CRM from introduction to funded assets, manage partner payouts, and report on pipeline, conversion, AUM, and partner ROI.
- Represent Altruist at industry conferences, association events, and recruiter gatherings to grow the network.
What you bring
- 3–5 years in wealth management or financial services, with exposure to advisor recruiting, advisor transitions, partnerships, or business development.
- Relationships with advisor recruiting or transition consulting firms, or experience working with them at a custodian, broker-dealer, RIA, or aggregator.
- Established relationships across wealth management, investment, technology, and industry organizations, including FPA, XYPN, and NAPFA, as well as custodian-conversion consultants, RIA M&A and practice-management advisors, broker-dealer transition consultants, and TAMP and outsourced-CIO platforms.
- A strong understanding of the RIA, wealth management, asset management, custody, or investment technology ecosystem.
- An understanding of how advisors move from wirehouses and broker-dealers to the independent RIA model, including how they choose a custodian.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- An organized, metrics-driven approach, with comfort using CRM tracking and channel reporting.
- Clear communication and the ability to work across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
How we'll measure success in year one

- New introductions from industry organizations, consultants, and platform partners beyond recruiting firms.
- Referred advisor AUM funded at Altruist.
- Acquisition cost per dollar of AUM is in line with targets.
- Accurate, on-time partner payouts and one trusted view of channel results.

- Competitive total compensation.
- Premium healthcare, dental, and vision insurance plans (HMO and PPO).
- 401k savings plan with a 4% match and immediate vesting.
- 16 week paid parental leave after one year of employment.
- Professional growth and development opportunities including an employee mobility program and an annual L&D budget allocation for each employee.

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package, along with a bonus program for eligible roles. For salaried positions, a salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs regularly to ensure fair, equitable, and competitive pay. At Altruist, we are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation by leveraging market data to inform our pay bands. Base salaries will be reviewed at regular intervals throughout the year, typically in conjunction with performance review cycles. By evaluating compensation on a regular basis, we are able to reward high performance and ensure all employees have opportunities for growth. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Altruist we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role, but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways.
