Full job description
Odyssey Therapeutics is propelling drug development beyond what is now possible to deliver medicines that address critical needs of patients with inflammatory and immunology diseases. We achieve unprecedented speed and efficiency by bringing together a target-centric approach, a toolbox of cutting-edge technologies, and a team of accomplished, world-class drug hunters. By reimagining the drug development process, we are creating a deep and broad drug pipeline that holds the potential to transform human health.
The opportunity: Odyssey is seeking a Senior Director, IT to lead the operational execution of our enterprise technology environment — infrastructure, service delivery, and cybersecurity — across a hybrid on-premises and AWS footprint. This role leads our IT and security team and day-to-day operations, while developing the multi-year technology and security roadmap that will guide how we scale securely and reliably.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who thrives on execution, team development, and driving measurable improvement in a fast-moving, biotech spanning early discovery through to a regulated clinical environment.
Your primary objectives will be:
- Own IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and service delivery across our hybrid on-prem and AWS environment, ensuring performance, availability, scalability, and high-quality ITSM practices.
- Drive a proactive and strategic vendor management program, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, SLA compliance, and fostering strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Lead the enterprise cybersecurity program — architecture, controls, and incident response — across prevention, detection, response, and recovery.
- Ensure IT compliance with industry regulations (SOX, GxP) and data privacy standards, and emerging AI governance and data privacy requirements.
- Develop, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure organizational resilience.
- Partner with Clinical Operation, Quality and Lab Operations on IT support for clinical trials and scientific systems — including CTMS, EDC, LIMS and ELN platforms — ensuring data integrity, security, and GxP compliance.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT and Cybersecurity team, fostering an environment that encourages continuous learning, professional development, and technical excellence.
- Drive the adoption and optimization of modern infrastructure and cloud technologies (AWS, hypervisors, networking)to support enterprise platforms, including approved AI tools.
About you:
- 10+ years in IT leadership spanning infrastructure/operations and cybersecurity, ideally in a regulated life sciences or healthcare environment.
- Experience operating under GxP, SOX, or comparable compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
- People leadership experience, including managing managers.
- Security certification (CISSP, CISM, or similar) preferred, not required.
- Nice to have: exposure to clinical systems (CTMS/EDC) and AI governance frameworks.
