Job Description

The Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer will serve as an individual contributor responsible for overseeing manufacturing projects and supporting the implementation of new equipment, automation, and production processes within the plant. This person will work closely with engineering and automation teams from the initial design and review stages through installation, launch, and handoff to production, ultimately becoming the plant’s resident expert on new equipment and training others on its operation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with heavy industrial robotics and automation, including the ability to troubleshoot production equipment and processes. Additional responsibilities include supporting new product launches, preventative maintenance improvements, FMEAs and root cause analysis, equipment installations, plant layout and expansion initiatives, and partnering with production and quality teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment performance.

Skills and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; open to candidates who have progressed through a skilled trades or maintenance background 5+ years of experience in automotive/manufacturing maintenance, including stamping, injection molding, welding, machining, or similar processes Strong hands-on technical background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance Allen-Bradley PLC experience, including the ability to modify/troubleshoot PLCs Experience supporting capital equipment projects, with an understanding of mechanical and electrical requirements, contractor coordination, equipment installation, and obtaining quotes Experience with process design, process improvement, and verification Experience developing or writing preventative maintenance plans Experience identifying and eliminating waste / improving manufacturing efficiency Basic Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets Proficiency with CAD software Understanding of APQP requirements and new product/equipment launches Experience supporting large-scale capital equipment installations/projects
