Full job description

Launch your software career with a company built to do exactly that.

SkillStorm develops technology talent for U.S. government agencies and Fortune 100 enterprises. You'll complete 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training on real, team-based projects, then deploy directly to an enterprise or government client from day one. This isn't a program you pay for. It's a paid role with a clear path from "qualified" to "deployed professional."

We're looking for people at the start of their technical careers, including recent graduates, career changers with a technical background, and transitioning service members and veterans, who have the fundamentals and the drive and want a structured route into enterprise software work.

Who qualifies? You likely do if you meet one of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field

  • At least 1 year of technical work experience

You'll also need a working knowledge of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and software development in an object-oriented language like Java or C#.

Every applicant who meets one of these paths is reviewed individually for fit. If you're unsure whether you qualify, apply anyway. That decision is ours to make, not yours to rule yourself out of.

What makes a strong fit:

  • Sharp problem-solving and logical reasoning skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication with teammates and stakeholders

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

  • Openness to relocating for client placement

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a W2 employee of SkillStorm (no C2C arrangements)

Veterans and transitioning service members: Structured training, a clear mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation support. This model is designed around the way you already operate, and we actively want you in this pipeline.

What you'll do once deployed:

  • Build and enhance applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools

  • Write clean, efficient, well-structured code that meets professional standards

  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support

  • Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving constructive feedback

  • Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications

  • Support testing and production deployments, and maintain technical documentation

  • Stay current on industry tools and techniques through ongoing training

Why people choose SkillStorm:

  • Competitive salary: you're paid from day one, not funding your own training

  • Enterprise-grade technology training and certifications

  • Work with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)

  • Ongoing mentorship and support through training and placement
