Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Resident Care Assistant to join our community committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents in their home. As a Resident Care Assistant, you will play an important role in all phases of providing routine personal care services and assist with the activities of daily living, that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

  • Provide personal assistance in the home setting to assist with the activities of daily living.

  • Provide or assist with oral/dental care, bathing, grooming, toileting, and/or showering while ensuring the privacy and safety of the client and encouraging the client’s independence.

  • Assist the client with simple range of motion or other exercises as directed. Ambulate client as directed in accordance with the client’s endurance level.

  • Assist in meal preparation and encourage resident to maintain level of independence. Observe appetite and offer suggestions for dietary planning.

  • Respect clients’ rights by knocking on doors before entering rooms, addressing clients by name and appropriate titles. Treat all clients fairly with kindness, dignity and respect.

  • Allow/encourage clients to make their own decisions when appropriate to promote independence.

  • Respect the property of the facility, employees, clients and guests.

  • Report grievances and complaints made by the clients immediately.

  • Comply with universal precautions policy at all times.

  • Perform routine housekeeping duties for clients.

  • Assist client to and from scheduled activities of choice. Encourage clients to participate in activities.

What you’ll bring:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum one-year related experience

  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under BMM/Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of BMM/Buckner.
