Assistant General Manager, Coliseum Revenue Operations

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is seeking an accomplished and commercially minded leader to serve as its new Assistant General Manager. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will develop and execute comprehensive revenue strategies designed to maximize venue utilization, drive sustainable growth and support the Coliseum’s long-term financial performance.

Working closely with the General Manager and members of the Coliseum Executive Leadership Team, the Assistant General Manager will provide strategic leadership across the venue’s revenue-generating business lines. This individual will lead business development and event booking activities, identify new commercial opportunities, cultivate strategic partnerships and develop sales and marketing strategies that advance the Coliseum’s overall business objectives.

This position is expected to report onsite 5 days a week. This position also requires non-traditional workhours that include evenings, weekends and/or holidays if necessary.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy that increases venue utilization, revenue growth and profitability while supporting the Coliseum’s long-term financial sustainability.

  • Lead business development and event booking activities across concerts, sporting events, festivals, corporate events, film productions and other high-profile programming. Identify and pursue new opportunities that strengthen the Coliseum’s market position and expand its revenue base.

  • Develop event proposals, structure financial offers and negotiate contracts and rental agreements to achieve the strongest possible financial return for the venue. Oversee the booking calendar and balance revenue potential with operational and strategic priorities.

  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with promoters, booking agencies, artist representatives, sports organizations, corporate partners and other key industry decision-makers. Represent the Coliseum in competitive bid processes, at industry conferences and through networking and client hospitality activities.

  • Lead the development of integrated sales, marketing, sponsorship, premium hospitality and partnership strategies that maximize event revenue, enhance the customer experience and strengthen the Coliseum brand.

  • Collaborate closely with Coliseum Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk Management, Marketing, Event Management and Ticketing teams, as well as USC Athletics and external partners including Legends, Learfield, promoters and governmental agencies, to support successful event execution and commercial performance.

  • Provide strategic and administrative leadership for the Coliseum’s revenue-generating operations. Establish departmental priorities, organizational structures, staffing plans and performance expectations; recruit, develop, mentor and evaluate management and professional staff; and implement policies and operational standards that strengthen accountability, customer service and revenue performance.

  • Monitor business performance through key indicators such as revenue growth, venue utilization, profitability, event bookings and customer satisfaction. Research industry trends, assess market conditions and competitive opportunities, and recommend strategic priorities and new revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Represent the Coliseum and USC as a senior leader within the entertainment, sports and venue industries. Participate in strategic planning, organizational initiatives and executive decision-making as a member of the Coliseum Executive Leadership Team, while promoting a workplace culture consistent with the USC Code of Ethics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic revenue generation, business development, marketing and sales planning

  • Proven record of successfully developing and growing revenue-generating programs or business lines

  • Broad knowledge of business disciplines, including finance, marketing, public relations, sales, business development, customer service, information technology and legal matters

  • Thorough knowledge of business metrics and revenue drivers

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, critical-thinking, analytical, management and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant professional experience

The successful candidate will bring a strategic and entrepreneurial approach to revenue development, strong relationships within the entertainment, sports or venue industries, and the ability to translate market opportunities into measurable business results. This individual will be an effective collaborator and skilled negotiator who can operate across a complex organization while representing one of the country’s most recognized sports and entertainment venues.

The annual base salary range for this position is $190,000-$200,000.
