Duties Description Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists for their outpatient clinics located in Canarsie, East Flatbush, and Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. As a Psychiatrist at KPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered, and recovery- focused treatments to individuals with mental health symptoms 18 years of age or older; including:• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions• Creating treatment plans including medication management• Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed• Providing individual and group psychotherapy• Participating in legal processes for individuals who have court ordered treatment• Evaluating the necessity of Court Order Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT)
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
