Full job description

Lasante Health Center is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management to adults, children, and adolescents. You will work alongside our licensed clinicians and psychiatric nurse practitioner, in close collaboration with our primary care colleagues.

LaSante Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center and New York State Office of Mental Health–licensed Article 31 outpatient clinic in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Our patients are predominantly Medicaid-insured, with deep roots in the Caribbean and Haitian communities. Our behavioral health department has grown to more than 34 clinicians across two Parkside Avenue sites, with a third location opening.

Schedule

No on-call. No nights. No inpatient coverage.

Choose the structure that works for you: Five 8-hour days, four 10-hour days, or three 12-hour days. This position is hybrid, combining on-site and telehealth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management

  • Treat patients across adult and child/adolescent populations

  • Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and primary care providers on shared patients

  • Contribute clinical input on high-risk cases and treatment planning

Maintain timely documentation consistent with OMH and FQHC requirements

Required qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency

  • Current, unrestricted New York State medical license, or license-eligible

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN); if board-eligible, certification expected within five years of hire

  • Active DEA registration

  • Willingness to treat both adult and child/adolescent patients

Preferred qualifications

  • Child & Adolescent Psychiatry subspecialty training or certification

  • Prior outpatient experience in an FQHC, community mental health, or integrated care setting

  • Haitian Creole, French, or Spanish language ability

  • Existing credentialing with New York Medicaid managed care plans

Compensation and benefits

  • $290,000 – $320,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and certification status

  • Federal loan repayment: LaSante is an FQHC in a designated shortage area and a STAR LRP–approved facility. Eligible clinicians may qualify for the HRSA Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (up to $250,000 for a six-year full-time commitment) or the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, and we qualify as an employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Eligibility is determined by HRSA and depends on individual circumstances.
