Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

What you will be doing as an Inbound Logistics - Corporate Intern:
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience across Meijer’s Supply Chain organization and may lead to consideration for future full-time opportunities, including the Meijer Supply Chain Rotational Program.
The projects that will be given to the Inbound Logistics - Corporate interns will be focused in key areas of the supply chain and provide an opportunity for cross functional development. The project will be related to ensuring inbound product flow is planned and executed with a customer focus.
Inbound Logistics Internships will be focused on the daily operations of the Fresh, General Merchandise or Grocery teams; projects may involve transportation strategy, freight optimization, carrier performance analysis, data analytics, and identifying opportunities to improve product flow from suppliers through the Meijer supply chain. Interns may also explore evolving logistics technologies, including opportunities to apply AI to logistics analytics and execution. Other areas of focus include the Systems team which will be specific to reporting, routing, and rate negotiations and the Reverse Unloading team which will focus on product return compliance and unloading efficiency at the warehouse.
Past internship projects have included:

Developing Power BI dashboards to automate freight analysis and identify transportation savings.

Evaluating transportation network consolidation opportunities to reduce product cost and improve delivery efficiency.

Analyzing vendor compliance and freight recovery opportunities.

Supporting transportation strategy, reporting, and logistics process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, General Business Management, International Business.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Analytics skills – familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms is preferred.

Drive for results - has focus on the bottom line.

Customer focus - dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers.

Relationship Skills - can create positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies.

Communication Skills - conveys the right information in writing and verbally.
