Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

What you will be doing as a Manufacturing Business Development Intern:
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience across Meijer’s Supply Chain and Manufacturing organizations and may lead to consideration for future full-time opportunities, including the Meijer Supply Chain Rotational Program.
As a Manufacturing Business Development Intern, you will work on projects focused on evaluating growth opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives, and identifying ways to expand and improve Meijer’s manufacturing capabilities. Interns will analyze market trends, evaluate business opportunities, develop financial and operational recommendations, and collaborate with partners across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, and Food Safety.
Past internship projects have included:

Developing business cases for new manufacturing capabilities and growth opportunities.

Conducting market and customer research to identify new product and business opportunities.

Evaluating facility, operational, and supply chain requirements to support future business expansion.

Assessing financial impacts of new initiatives and developing recommendations for senior leadership.

Supporting manufacturing strategy, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
-
Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Food Science, or Engineering.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Analytics skills – familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms is preferred.

Drive for results - has focus on the bottom line.

Customer focus - dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers.

Relationship Skills - can create positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies.

Communication Skills - conveys the right information in writing and verbally.

Problem Solving - Probes all fruitful sources for answers and looks beyond the obvious to assemble and interpret data.
