Job Title: Summer 2027 Intern-Coatings R&D Intern

Summary:Coatings R&D intern will work with a senior chemist to support development of new chemistries/products for use as a coating ingredient to enhance different performance attributes.

Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluation and design of new chemistries for use as coating additives or resins.

• Coating formulation and testing to ensure performance properties meet requirements for target applications.

• Fundamental studies to understand structure-property relationship using different analytical techniques.

• Documentation of all studies and presentation to technology team and leaders.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• Competent in conducting experiments in a chemical lab setup and using basic analytical instruments.

• Prior experience or knowledge of Coating technologies preferred but not a requirement.

• Ability to learn and execute quickly, collaboration and teamwork, problem solving and analytical mindset.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Program Qualifications:

• The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

• The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.

Education Requirement:

• Completed BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

• Enrolled in MS or PhD program in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
