Job Title: Unit Sorter

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Unit Sorter to support seed processing and inventory operations. In this role, you will be responsible for sorting, organizing, labeling, and preparing seed units for research, production, and shipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can follow detailed instructions, and maintains a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort and organize seed units according to established procedures.

• Verify labels, lot numbers, and product information for accuracy.

• Scan and track inventory using computer systems and handheld scanners.

• Prepare seed units for shipment, storage, or research activities.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

• Follow quality control standards to ensure product integrity.

• Assist with inventory counts and material movement as needed.

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.

• Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in warehouse, production, agriculture, inventory, receiving, or manufacturing environments is helpful but not required.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

• Comfortable working in a warehouse, production, or seed handling environment.

Pay: Starting at $18/hour

Schedule: 1st Shift

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Grimes, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
