Job Description

Day to Day:

A Fire Protection technician is needed for a full-time, field-based role supporting life safety systems at a university campus in Virginia. The position focuses on inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire suppression systems, along with sprinklers, alarms, and emergency lighting. This person will coordinate with onsite vendors and operate independently when needed. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, field experience, and direct engagement with stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

  • 1-3 years of experience in fire protection/fire safety
  • Experience with fire protection systems experience, especially with fire suppression systems, as well as sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and emergency lighting.
  • Strong field expertise in inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing life safety systems; must collaborate with onsite vendors and operate independently when needed.
  • Hands-on field role—not desk-based; requires proactive presence and engagement in operational environments. Client-facing experience with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with end clients. Preferred: NICET certifications or other fire protection certifications
