Summary
This position is located in the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Headquarters, Logistics Directorate, Overseas Distribution Division, Overseas Distribution Branch-Pacific. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Technician to support Pacific Area (Guam, Japan, and Korea) and Central Distribution Centers (CDCs) as necessary.
Duties
As a Supply Technician, you will be responsible for the following duties: Manage and maintain DeCA Business Systems data, including item files, UPC updates, and error corrections. Process commissary and CDC orders, invoices, delivery orders, and financial transactions. Coordinate product allocation and distribution for assigned overseas stores. Assist with preparing and updating promotional packages and resolving related discrepancies. Provide technical and administrative support, prepare reports, and respond to item management inquiries. To qualify for the Supply Technician position, your resume and supporting documentation must support that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-06. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. A. Creditable specialized experience includes: GS-07 Understanding basic supply rules and agency guidelines to look up information and correct issues in records. Using agency's computer systems to enter, update, and retrieve item and inventory data. Answering common questions from vendors and customers about orders, deliveries, and product availability. Recognizing supply needs and reviewing requests to identify items that require follow-up. - Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. Your application package must contain proof you meet this requirement. See Required Documents for more information. o For GS-07: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-06. - Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a non-temporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
