We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our General Surgery team. As a key member of our surgical healthcare professionals, you will work closely with surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care throughout the surgical process. Responsibilities:
- Surgical Assistance:

Assist surgeons in various general surgery procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring proper consent and pre-operative assessments.

Handle surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment.
- Patient Evaluation and Management:
-
Conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic test interpretation.

Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, addressing patient needs and concerns.
- Post-Operative Care:
-
Monitor patients in the post-operative period, assessing vital signs and managing pain and complications.

Provide patient education on post-operative care, medication management, and potential complications.

Assist in coordinating follow-up care and appointments.
- Collaboration and Communication:
-
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing questions and providing information about surgical procedures and recovery.
- Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including surgical notes, progress reports, and treatment plans.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational documentation standards.
- Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to emergency situations in the surgical setting, demonstrating proficiency in life-saving interventions.

Participate in drills and training to enhance emergency preparedness.

Requirements:
- PA - Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, minimum Bachelor’s degree required
Certification:

Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP)

BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 1 organization

American Heart Association BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
-
No online programs from any organization will be accepted.

DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities.
Salary Range
USD $71.93 - USD $93.00 /Hr.
