Senior Buyer

Senior Buyer – Manufacturing

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Buyer to support purchasing and supplier management activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing direct and indirect materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating cost-effective terms, and ensuring materials are delivered on time to support production and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities for assigned suppliers, materials, and services to support production schedules and business needs.

  • Review material requirements, issue purchase orders, track open orders, and expedite deliveries as needed.

  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, freight, minimum order quantities, and other commercial terms.

  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, cost, and service.

  • Identify material shortages, supply risks, cost concerns, and supplier issues before they impact operations.

  • Collaborate with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other internal teams to resolve purchasing and supplier-related issues.

  • Analyze purchasing data, supplier performance, inventory levels, and cost trends to support continuous improvement and cost-savings initiatives.

Salary ranges for this position vary by job location and are determined based on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing individual expertise and contributions.

Successful Candidate must be able to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) to gain access to technical data. This position requires access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the US and meet the requirements of ITAR.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Two to five years of purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and influence internal and external stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Bachelor’s degree, supplier performance management experience, Lean/continuous improvement experience, or regulated manufacturing experience is preferred.
