Accountant - Project Based (Deltek)

Description

We are partnering with a well-established professional services organization in Boston that is looking to add an Accountant to its growing team. This is a newly created position offering exposure to a variety of accounting functions, client projects, and collaboration across multiple offices.

This opportunity is ideal for a Staff or Senior Accountant who enjoys a hands-on role, takes initiative, and wants to contribute to a collaborative finance team.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee project accounting activities, including project setup, data entry, and labor cost transfers.

• Coordinate client billing, invoicing, and collections.

• Prepare financial reports for clients and assist with internal financial statements.

• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.

• Support collection efforts across multiple office locations.

• Maintain client records and communications within the accounting system.

• Coordinate required insurance documentation.

• Partner with accounting leadership on special projects and process improvements.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• 2–5+ years of accounting experience.

• Experience within a professional services environment; architecture, engineering, or a similar industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with project accounting and billing.

• Experience with Deltek, a similar project-based ERP system may be considered.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Someone comfortable taking ownership and providing backup support to accounting leadership when needed.
