Tactical Demand Planner

PURPOSE:

The Tactical Demand Planner (TDP) is the global caretaker for brand-level planning and is a key player within S&OP. The TDP proactively navigates uncertainty by addressing market changes and enabling resource allocation optimization, serving as a critical interface at brand level between upstream and downstream supply chain planning. It plays a key role ensuring consistent rolling demand forecast and scenarios across horizons connecting with commercial and financial assumptions. The position fosters continuous improvement, collaboration and customer satisfaction. In addition, the position manages a high degree of ambiguity and complexity, while also possessing strong customer/stakeholder relationship management. Finally, the incumbent possesses broad business acumen, lifecycle management & commercial expertise.

This role will be located in Whippany, NJ.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively collaborate to ensure that demand planning and decision points align with overall business objectives and strategies;

  • Serves as link to the commercial and marketing functions as the key contact in PS;

  • Liaises with key markets to get their bottom-up expectations, align assumptions and swing factors;

  • Owns the Brand Global Demand Review process within S&OP framework for respective brands;

  • Actively navigates uncertainty – works closely with Product Teams to define the decision points on different scenarios with respective financial consequences, triggers roadmap for review and Product Demand Review cadence;

  • Provides guidance into product and customer team of scenarios & insights, provides feedback loop to countries on final scenario feasibility;

  • Works closely with cross-functional country and global stakeholders to create high level of forecasting transparency while connecting short term with mid-long-term planning (SBP);

  • Ensures consistency in communication and alignment with cross-functional stakeholders;

  • Leverages further insights from events and experiences in other markets to enhance global forecasting quality capabilities;

  • Refine & harness insights granularity, data sets and assumptions to drive enhanced forecasting modeling techniques and higher forecasting quality across mid-and long-term forecasting;

  • Identify new insights and trends to actively create value within Brand S&OP;

  • Scenario Planning: Drives and steers scenario planning and navigation of uncertainty through market events, risks and opportunities;

  • Collaborates with Product Teams to assess tradeoffs impacting sales exposure, profit, cash and costs and further impacts associated with these scenarios.

  • Collaborates with Product and Customer teams to ensure voice of customer is captured across bottleneck management and within optimization of resource allocation and mitigation of supply constraints.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree;

  • Several years of relevant experience in the field of Supply Chain or Demand Management;

  • Knowledge in S&OP and a proven ability to create forecasts and scenarios;

  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills;

  • Digital mindset, financial knowledge, and a high level of business acumen;

  • Courage and results orientation in a changing environment;

  • Ability to handle uncertainties and market contexts, including different go-to-market models;

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to make decisions, the courage to express your opinion, supported by insights and analyzes, as well as the confidence to influence key stakeholders;

  • Strategic business knowledge, the ability to focus on results, and the passion to stay informed about media and technology trends;

  • Fluent English skills in both spoken and written form;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or specialized certification in Supply Chain Management;’

  • Experience in product launch;

  • Experience in epidemiology, data science, or in an ML or AI environment;

  • Knowledge and experience in the application of various statistical forecasting methods;

  • Knowledge in OM.

This posting will be available for application until at least 10/16/2026.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $115,520 - $173,280.00 Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
