Accounting Analyst

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Analyst for a Contract position based in Clarksville, Tennessee. This role supports invoice processing and payment follow-up by managing submissions through client billing platforms, tracking approval progress, and helping maintain timely collections. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, works comfortably across multiple systems, and communicates effectively with both clients and internal partners to resolve billing issues.

Responsibilities:

• Submit invoices through client payment platforms and ensure all required billing documents are entered completely and on schedule.

• Track invoice activity in customer portals, verify approval progress, and identify items that still require authorization.

• Review aging receivables and proactively follow up on delayed approvals to help shorten payment cycles and reduce outstanding balances.

• Use various client-facing systems to upload, access, and monitor invoices from initial submission through final payment status.

• Keep detailed records of billing activity, approval updates, and communication related to invoice processing.

• Explain and apply customer payment terms, including net 60 arrangements tied to the client approval date within their system.

• Partner with internal teams and customer contacts to investigate discrepancies, resolve billing questions, and support faster payment processing.

Requirements • 3+ years of experience in accounting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or a related finance function.

• Hands-on experience entering customer and vendor invoices with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Working knowledge of account reconciliation, billing operations, and general accounting practices.

• Ability to navigate multiple portals or accounting systems to manage invoice processing and payment tracking.

• Understanding of contract terms and payment conditions, including delayed payment timelines based on approval status.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients and cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in monitoring outstanding invoices, researching discrepancies, and maintaining organized financial records.
