Network Engineer (Fortinet & F5 LTM)

Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer with strong expertise in managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure, with a primary focus on Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls and F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM) load balancing solutions. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of network security, traffic management, and high-availability services across multiple environments. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting complex network issues, implementing security best practices, and ensuring reliable application delivery in both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.

• Administer, configure, and support Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls, including policies, NAT, VPNs, routing, HA configurations, and security services.

• Manage and maintain F5 BIG-IP LTM environments, including virtual servers, pools, monitors, iRules, SSL certificates, and traffic policies.

• Design and implement secure network solutions to support business applications and critical infrastructure.

• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve connectivity, latency, and security-related issues.

• Configure and maintain site-to-site and remote access VPN connectivity.

• Perform firewall rule reviews, policy optimization, and security hardening activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration.

• Hands-on experience managing Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls in enterprise environments.

• Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and WAN technologies.

• Experience with VPN technologies including IPSec and SSL VPN.

• Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices.

• Experience with packet captures and network analysis tools such as Wireshark.

• Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

• Experience with F5 ASM, APM, DNS, or AWAF modules.

• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Scripting or automation experience using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.

• Industry certifications such as:

• Fortinet NSE / FCP

• F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)

• CCNA or CCNP
