Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join a growing company. This role is ideal for a hands-on Accountant who is versatile and can wear many hats - ranging from Accounts Payable to month-end close and preparing financial reports for review. The role will oversee core bookkeeping and accounting activities, ensure financial data is organized and compliant, and provide reliable month-end information for broader reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain financials QuickBooks

• Record, classify, and monitor activity, including commission splits, payout calculations, and related accounting entries.

• Manage incoming funds and ensure disbursements are processed accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.

• Manage accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, processing routine business expenses, and tracking monthly spending trends.

• Prepare month-end close deliverables such as income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules for leadership review.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate and complete financial records.

• Assist with the buildout and alignment of accounting workflows that connect QuickBooks and another internal system

• Pay: DOE

• Timeline: Need someone to start no later than October 19th

• Contract or contract to hire (depending on candidate's preference and situation)

•Great office environment

•Will allow some remote work weekly!

Requirements

• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks, with preference for experience supporting real estate brokerage or similarly specialized accounting workflows.

• Strong understanding of financial statements, including analysis of income statements and balance sheets.

• Experience with balance sheet account reconciliations and resolving accounting variances in a timely manner.

• Ability to assess whether costs should be recorded as capital assets or period expenses based on accounting guidance.

• Must be able to adapt to a growth environment and juggle a variety of tasks while meeting deadlines

• 5-7 years in accounting is a must (Staff/Sr. level)
