Job Description

This position is with Mindray Animal Medical Technology North America

Job title – Senior Staff Accountant

Job duties –

Responsible for international tax issues and tax duty projects. Implement international tax projects. Perform financial analysis, accounting, and reporting for the following essential functions per established systems, policies, and procedures: credit and collections from customers and coordinate with local banks on deposits to US and Canadian business accounts; accounts payable; US and Canada compliance and sales tax filings; preparation of property, income, and occupation tax services for small businesses; quarterly financial planning; payroll and expense reports, including employee benefits inquiries and state UI registration/maintenance; month-end close and financial reporting for US and Canadian subsidiaries; cash flow maintenance; and fixed assets management. Make accounting decisions within limitations established by internal policies and procedures and external guidelines from GAAP and SOX controls. Travel required once per year to China for warehouse and fixed asset auditing.

Education required – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely-related field (will accept a three- or four-year Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely-related field)

Experience required – 3 years of accounting experience

Background –

  1. Experience and proficiency in SAP systems including SAP’s AP, AR, Tax, GL booking-related t-code to do daily accounting duties.

  2. Knowledge of Canadian provincial tax rates.

  3. Experience in advanced Excel: pivot tables, lookup formulas, filtering.

  4. Knowledge of NAFTA regional tax compliance.

  5. Ability to assist and coordinate with outside CPA firm to ensure timely tax filings and corporate income tax support for US and Canadian entities.

  6. Knowledge of GAAP and SOX controls.

  7. Experience in customizing management’s strategic decisions to local jurisdictions and ensuring policies are implemented.

  8. Ability to manage international tax compliance, including preparation and/or review of international tax calculations, such as GILTI, FDII, FTC, and BEAT, and forms (e.g. 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8991, 8992, and 8993) and reporting statements.

  9. Experience with IRS audits and Canada Revenue Agency audits.

Rate of pay – $121,722 - $125,000 per year
