Job Description

The Production Supervisor oversees mid-shift plant operations from coordinating production activities, leading a team of employees, and ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met. This role focuses on organizing workflow, developing staff, and maintaining accurate documentation across production, shipping, receiving, and sanitation in a meat processing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise plant production activities by organizing and assigning work to ensure efficient operations and achievement of production and quality goals.

  • Instruct, guide, and assist employees in daily tasks to support consistent performance and adherence to established standards.

  • Prepare accurate documentation related to production, shipping and receiving, safety, sanitation, and other operational records.

  • Lead the training, coaching, and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment that supports success.

  • Organize and coordinate production schedules and workflows in an efficient manner to meet demand and minimize downtime.

  • Ensure the quality of inbound and outbound products complies with specifications, guidelines, and standards for shipping, receiving, and production.

  • Learn and perform job tasks of staff to provide coverage in the event of their absence or increased workload.

  • Demonstrate leadership in implementing and supporting a safety-focused culture throughout the plant.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and consistently wear required safety gear while in production areas.

  • Support and enforce all company policies and procedures to maintain compliance and consistency.

  • Comply with all food safety and quality programs and procedures in accordance with GFSI and applicable regulatory standards.

  • Participate in required job and safety training programs offered by the company.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas to promote a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in production supervision or production management, preferably in an industrial or plant environment.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.

  • Strong service-oriented mindset with a focus on supporting internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and treat coworkers with respect.

  • Experience leading and developing people, including training, coaching, and performance management.

  • Ability to obtain forklift and pallet jack certification.

  • High school education or GED combined with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are preferred.

  • Experience in the meat processing industry is desired but not required.

  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulatory requirements, including GFSI programs and procedures.

  • Comfort working in an industrial production setting with variable environmental conditions.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing job and safety training.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, schedules, and workflow.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
