Job Description:
-
Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
-
Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
-
Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
-
Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
-
Holds retractors or instruments, sponges or suctions operative site, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, cuts suture material, connects drains to suction apparatus, and applies dressings to a wound.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic computer skills [Required]
Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]

Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of CST experience in a surgical setting [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
-
Basic Life Support BLS Cert (BLS) [Required]
-
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR
-
Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
