Full job description

To provide classroom and student support in the 12:1:4 program. The assignment includes providing personal care and toileting needs for students. Grades 6-8.

10 months per year. Follows the student calendar

Eligible for NYS Retirement System benefits and holiday, sick and personal days.

Job Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma is required.

Experience working with children preferred.

In this job as a Paraprofessional, you may be required to complete the following tasks:

  • Lift, carry, pull up to 60 lbs.

  • Be outdoors for up to an hour year around in potentially inclement weather

  • Be on your feet and supervising consistently for up to an hour

  • Be able to run and keep up with a child

  • With training, operate a copier and complete classroom cutting and clerical tasks

  • Speak and communicate clearly with children

  • Be able to sit and get up from the floor or low seated position.

  • Be part of a P.E. class and be able to support sport activities
