About Your Role

At Clover, we are accelerating the evolution of our merchant and consumer payment platforms. Following major successes in expanding our core API automation coverage across our Customer Engagement ecosystem, we are scaling our Quality Engineering organization to drive next-generation Consumer Mobile Application (CMA) automation, Web/UI CI/CD test suites, and dedicated point-of-sale device testing. As an SDET, you will be a hands-on technical contributor shaping our test automation architecture. You will focus on shifting testing left, building resilient mobile and hardware test beds, streamlining CI/CD release pipelines, and automating complex end-to-end user journeys across millions of live merchant devices and consumer applications.

What You Will Do

• Automation Strategy & Scaling: Design, configure, and scale automated testing frameworks across native mobile apps (iOS/Android), Web interfaces, and physical point-of-sale device hardware.

• Mobile & Device Testing: Develop and maintain robust UI and functional test suites for Consumer Mobile Applications and embedded terminal devices to increase release velocity and reliability.

• API & Contract Validation: Expand automated REST API test suites and mock services integrated directly into continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Agile Integration & Shift-Left: Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Software Engineers to review user stories, define acceptance criteria early, and embed automated test coverage into sprint deliverables.

• Defect Triage & Observability: Debug complex platform issues using systematic test design, perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on test failures, and track quality metrics using Jira and Confluence.

• AI-Assisted Engineering: Utilize modern AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini) to accelerate test script development, refactor framework code, and generate synthetic test data.

• Quality Advocacy: Serve as a champion for the merchant and consumer experience, providing technical feedback to refine product design and UX workflows.

What You Will Need to Have

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Software QA Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Software Development.

• Programming & Scripting: 2+ years of hands-on programming experience in Java, TypeScript, or Python.

• Automation Mastery: 2+ years of dedicated experience building, maintaining, and executing automated test frameworks (UI and API).

• API & Database Skills: Proven expertise testing REST APIs (Postman, HTTP, JSON) and writing SQL queries for data verification.

• Full-Stack Application Testing: Practical experience testing across all application layers—front-end UI, service/API layer, and back-end databases.

• Tooling: Proficiency with defect tracking and test management systems such as Jira, Confluence, ALM, or MTM.

Experience That Would Be Great to Have

• Mobile Test Automation: Direct hands-on experience with Appium for mobile automation across iOS and Android platforms.

• Modern Web Automation: Experience using Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end (E2E) web application and UI testing.

• API Frameworks: Familiarity with Karate Framework for API automation, mock services, and contract validation.

• AI-Assisted Coding: Active familiarity using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Gemini) to accelerate scripting and test bed setup.

• Performance & Load Testing: Exposure to developing frameworks and scenarios for load, stress, and performance testing.

• CI/CD Integration: Ability to configure test environments and integrate automated test runs into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness).

How you’ll work:

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

• This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Salary Range

$140,000.00 - $210,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
