Accounting Co-op

Overview

The Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the accounting team in day-to-day financial operations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. This position offers exposure to a variety of accounting functions within a manufacturing environment while providing practical experience in financial systems, internal controls, and business processes. The intern will work closely with accounting professionals and cross-functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation.

• Support monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities .

• Maintain prepaid expenses and accrual schedules.

• Support financial reporting and audit requests.

• Perform accounting research and ad hoc analyses as assigned.

• Assist with documentation of business processes and internal controls.

• Compile, organize, and reconcile financial data from various systems.

• Support cost accounting, inventory, fixed asset, lease accounting, warranty, deferred revenue, or other special projects as needed.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation.

• Collaborate with team members across Finance, Operations, and other departments.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.

Must be able to complete entire duration of internship.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active Junior or Senior pursuing a B achelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Willing and able to enroll in a Co-Op or internship credit course and fulfill all requirements to receive academic credit and or degree progress

• Ability to provide any school documentation required for participation in a Co-Op Program

• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ab ility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• A bility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
