Description

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are looking for self-motivated, energetic Certified Nurse Aides who possess the skills and desire to work as a preceptor for Nurse Aides and Patient Aides and to provide restorative nursing care and education to our residents in techniques to maintain or improve with activities of daily living.

We offer flexible scheduling and holiday, weekend and shift premiums. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating the work of Nurse Aides and Patient Aides.

  • Serve as a liaison between licensed and sub-professional staff.

  • Assist residents with personal and nursing care needs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.

This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.

This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $8.77 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Must have two years of experience as a Nurse Aide State Registered.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
