Full job description
As the Branch Manager of Woodforest National Bank, you will lead with an entrepreneurial mindset, acting as the business owner to ensure the branch serves as a key hub for all banking services. Most of your time will be spent in the branch location, engaging customers and team members to drive sales and increase deposits. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to develop customer relationships through strategic partnerships and community involvement.
You will be the face of Woodforest, responsible for delivering exceptional service, relationship growth, and ensuring operational excellence, all while embodying our core values: Ownership, Service, Community, and Integrity
Key Responsibilities:
Ownership
- Operate the branch as a business owner – driving performance, managing resources, and making decisions that support long-term growth and profitability.
- Lead with accountability, driving and achieving sales goals and expectations for your team and consistently measuring results.
- Lead branch operations with a strategic focus on deposit growth and wealth management referrals.
- Manage all aspects of branch operations, including compliance, security, cash handling, and expense control.
Service
- Deliver the Woodforest Experience by ensuring every customer interaction is warm, personalized, and solution oriented.
- Champion a customer-first culture by coaching your team to identify needs and recommend banking and investment solutions that add value.
- Drive client acquisition, strengthen relationships, promote lending solutions, and refer clients to wealth management services.
Community
- Build meaningful relationships within the local community, positioning the branch as a trusted financial partner.
- Collaborate with Retail Partners to create joint engagement opportunities that drive traffic and deepen local connections.
- Lead community outreach efforts in partnership with Community Development Relationship Managers to support local initiatives and events.
Integrity
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance in all branch activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Foster a culture of transparency, trust, and respect within your team and with customers.
Initiative
- Leadership & Operational Excellence demonstrated through adapting quickly and acting decisively.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to build a high-performing, values-driven team.
- Embrace and lead a technology-forward banking experience, ensuring staff and customers are confident in digital tools.
- Resolve customer concerns with empathy and ownership, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes.
- Maintain operational excellence through audits, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Competencies Required:
- Must be proactive when seeking business outside of the branch.
- Inspired, goal oriented, disciplined, team leader with strong interpersonal skills, sales aptitude, and comfortable with outside sales.
- Must be open to direct coaching and feedback.
- Ability to work flexible or extended working hours to meet business needs; demonstrated reliability.
- Demonstrate a passion for taking care of people by exhibiting effective problem-solving abilities, the ability to maintain composure and convey a positive attitude while interacting with customers as well as internal team members.
- Knowledge of/or ability to quickly learn products, services, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, as well as engaging in as sales and service process.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, follow directions, and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand instructions, forms, applications, and be familiar with financial statements and credit reports.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Internally this position is available to existing Woodforest Branch Managers meeting the following criteria:

2 years of Woodforest Branch Manager I experience.

Received at least a “Meets Expectations” or better on two most recent consecutive Woodforest Performance Evaluations.

No “Written Warning” level disciplinary action in calendar year.

External qualifications:
-
At least two years of Branch Manager experience in another Bank in the past three years.
-
Individuals with this level of experience are typically responsible and accountable for all sales, service, and operational goals and expectations as well as for all personnel and employment decisions at a given branch/location. Individuals with this level of experience typically report to regional management and operate without direct daily supervision.

Must be positive and engaging.
Formal Education & Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Work Status:
- Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Responsible and accountable for all personnel and employment decisions at assigned branch/location.
Travel:
- Up to 25% for business development and community engagement.
Working Conditions:
- Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, standing most of the time, and may involve walking, moving, or sitting for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying light items.
Technology Requirements:
- Must maintain a mobile device compatible with the Cisco Duo app for secure authentication.
