Job Title: GIS Specialist 1, 2, or 3Agency: Department of Natural Resources Job Requisition ID: JR0000005734Shift: Not Applicable (United States of America)Compensation Details: $36,752.25-$51,607.15 Job Description: NOTE: This job may be filled at the 1, 2, or 3 level based on education, experience, and preferred criteria.
Under the supervision of the Response and Remediation Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating water well and drinking water well receptor data; generating various maps and figures using GIS and ESRI software; responding to GORA Requests; updating EPD’s website (Drupal); and processing HSRA Release Notifications. The incumbent will also be expected to provide support for current EPD online Systems (LEMIR/GEOS/FIS), including but not limited to serving as backup for the Land LEMIR Administrator and providing support by assisting external customers, uploading documents, quality control/quality assurance of data, testing and troubleshooting online systems, and pursuing maintenance with EPD IT and the contractor. As part of EPD's Modernizing Permitting and Compliance System Project, the incumbent will be expected to test various software and provide input to EPD IT. The incumbent must possess good written and verbal communication skills and work collaboratively with others across the Division.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
Experience with Geographic Information System applications, tools, and resources, including familiarity with ESRI GIS Software, geodatabases, cartographic principles, and common software tools
Experience with relational, multi-user spatial database design, development, and management, including the integration of existing databases (spatial and non-special)
Experience with collection, analysis, and dissemination of geospatial and related data/information
General knowledge of State Cleanup Program (HSRA, GBA, VRPA)
General knowledge of current EPD Online Systems (GEOS/LEMIR)
