Job Title: Quality Improvement SpecialistAgency: Department of Community Health Job Requisition ID: JR0000004913Shift: Not Applicable (United States of America)Compensation Details: $56,310.72 - $73,677.24 Job Description: Under broad supervision, may plan, organize or coordinate the activities of an assigned program. Reviews, monitors and ensures compliance with assigned program area's policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in meetings with Managed Care Organizations as point of contact for specific PI projects

• Provide technical support to Managed Care Organization in the conduct of QI projects.

• Support, lead quality performance improvement activities

• Prepare routine PI performance updates and reports

• Develop and facilitate trainings to assist network provider agencies in completing quality PI projects

• Supports ongoing reporting of performance in alignment with state and federal regulatory requirements

• Analyze data submitted by Managed Care Organizations to monitor and track performance

• Performs other related duties, as assigned

Key Qualifications:

• Strong background in Project Management in a healthcare setting
• Significant experience in Quality Improvement, Disease Management, Primary care or Case Management in a managed care health plan environment
• Superior communication and writing skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, including Excel
• Ability to participate on a team to accomplish tasks
• Ability to work with all stakeholders: members, network, families, and government staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences

AGENCY SPECIFIC PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills /experience):

• Clinical experience working with Quality and Performance Improvement projects

• Working knowledge of compliance, ethics, federal or state programs.

• Experience within Medicaid programs.

• Knowledge of managed care and fee-for-service delivery models

• Prior work experience working with a managed care organization

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 2 (RCP061) or position equivalent.--Note: Some positions may require a certification or licensure. --Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
