An established Venture Capital firm in the Bay Area that is looking to add a Staff Accountant to its finance team. Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations across the firm's management company and investment funds.

• Assist with accounts payable, expense processing, invoice review, and payment coordination.

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general ledger activities and account reconciliations.

• Process and track employee expenses and vendor payments using platforms such as Expensify and Bill.com.

• Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, financial reporting, and supporting schedules.

• Help maintain accounting records and ensure transactions are properly documented and recorded.

• Support fund-related accounting and operational activities, gaining exposure to investment and fund operations.

• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other finance initiatives as the firm continues to grow.

• Leverage technology and emerging AI tools to identify opportunities to improve workflows and increase efficiency.

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting experience; candidates from a variety of industries are encouraged to apply.

• Hands-on QuickBooks experience is required.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with various financial software applications.

• Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, Dynamo, or similar accounting and expense management platforms is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

• Self-starter who takes initiative, enjoys learning, and is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.

• Interest in venture capital, private markets, and the startup ecosystem is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI tools and platforms, or an interest in incorporating technology into accounting workflows, is a plus.
