Supply Chain Planner

Description

We are looking for a Materials Planner who provides proper material management processes according to requirements regarding quantity, place, time, kind and quality for a Contract position based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This role focuses on translating demand forecasts into purchase activity, monitoring incoming materials and finished goods, and helping maintain reliable product flow across the supply chain. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in procurement and logistics, is comfortable working in planning systems such as Infor LN, and can step in quickly to support day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

Organize and control material supplies;

Implement and maintain supplier management;

Provide master data management, including price and condition management; obtain master data and creating new business partner files in the system; and creation of purchasing orders;

Request, evaluate and compare quotations and align them with the technical drawings;

Process orders (automatic purchase requisition or manual handling) in consideration of optimum days inventory held;

Ensure and trace on-time deliveries;

Create reports about material stock, procurement data, material requisitions and further key performance indicators (KPIs);

Share inspection reports with the supplier and follow up corrections of defective deliveries;

Organize transports, pickups and clearances;

Negotiate prices and payment terms with the supplier;

Support optimization of material management processes and strategies/policies;

Support implementation and maintenance of supplier development;

Perform yearly supplier evaluation.

Requirements • 2+ years of experience in supply chain planning, purchasing, procurement, or logistics coordination.

• Working knowledge of supply chain logistics, purchase order management, and buying processes in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience using MRP or ERP platforms; familiarity with Infor LN is strongly preferred.

• Understanding of inbound shipments, transportation coordination, and global supply chain principles.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in order entry, pricing review, and delivery tracking.

• Strong communication skills for working with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional operations teams.

• Background in manufacturing or distribution environments is preferred, but not required.
