950 South Oyster Bay Road, Hicksville, NY, USA | Hourly | 54.94 per hour | Part Time

JOB DEFINITION: To enhance CN Guidance capacity, tailored to identified grant population, as well as new referral pathways, all of which will endure long beyond grant's 6-month period.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School Diploma required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Prior successful field work and community work with this identified population under proper supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide culturally attuned outreach.

  • Build community trust within identified community.

  • Support health-literacy education.

  • Outreach and engage community members and leaders.

  • Guide program staff on cultural norms.

  • Facilitate connections between Ukraine new arrivals and behavioral-health services.

  • Speak relevant language(s) (e.g., Ukrainian and Russian).

  • Outreach and engage community members and leaders.

  • Build a strong referral pathway of Ukraine new arrivals into behavioral healthcare.

  • Documented learnings specific to this target population that can be used continually in future CN Guidance staff trainings; and increased cultural competency and nuanced attunement of our agency across Ukraine groups long after the grant ends.

  • To be out in the field, in the Ukraine community, building awareness about CN Guidance's mental health, cooccurring substance use treatment, and wrap-around service programs-building trust and referrals.

  • Working on-site with our staff, coaching CN Guidance team members with regard to best ways to: conduct outreach in culturally attuned ways; build trust; engage community members in behavioral health services; and continue building referrals to our programming even and especially after this 6-month services & capacity-building grant comes to an end in September 2026.

  • Identify additional eligible individuals in need of referrals and connection to services.

  • Adapt outreach approaches to changing community needs.

  • Provide language interpretation support in relevant language(s).

  • Identify individuals who would be excellent cultural brokers, liaisons (between community and mental health supports), and/or consultants who can help us build our capacity to better serve this community.

  • Assist in building CN Guidance's capacity and cultural competence.

  • Build a strong referral pathway of Ukraine new arrivals into behavioral healthcare.

  • In-person presence at community hubs highly attended by Ukraine new arrivals, including: Community events (e.g., Ukrainian and Russian festivals).

  • Facilitate sharing of data with the individuals to whom it applies to facilitate partnered decision-making and to keep clients informed of progress

  • Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.

  • Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views and experiences. A Culture that makes better decisions, drives innovation, and delivers better business results.

  • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by following established safety guidelines.
